Illinois leader against proposed income tax increase

Quinn expected to annouce increase this week
QUINCY, Illinois - If Illinois Governor Pat Quinn has his way the state could see an increase in the income tax soon.
One person who is against that Illinois House Republican Leader Tom Cross.
He was the guest speaker at a fundraising breakfast for Rep. Jil Tracy on Monday morning.
The Governor is expected to make the announcement sometime this week.
The state is facing a deficit of more than 11 billion dollars.
Cross says that these kinds of increases are real problem from struggling businesses and individuals in the state.
The state will get some federal help with the budget deficit when more than 2 billion dollars from the Obama stimulus plan makes its way to Illinois.
